Leadership
September 28, 2013
Dear President Obama,
The house passed the bill to delay Obamacare and approved funding till December 15th. The senate will make their move and nothing will be resolved until all three sides come together and compromise on a solution. You are abusing the people that put you into office to do a job and you have all failed. None of you have shown the leadership required to break this impasse and the American people will be the big losers.
According to the NY Times, there are major flaws in the mental health sections of the ACA. Patrick Kennedy blames it on your givebacks to the insurance companies for their support of the ACA in 2010. Your administration is dragging their feet on these changes. In lite of the fact that mental health is a key reason for gun violence in this country, don’t you think it is important enough for you to kick your administration in the butt and give the insurance companies the clarification they need to pay for authorized and needed treatment? Did you really COMPROMISE with the insurance companies as Kennedy claims?
The Highway Transportation Fund is out of money and the CBO recommended to raise the gas tax 10 cents and index it on a yearly basis to the rate of inflation. I think this recommendation should be tied to research and construction that will make the roads last longer. I really object to giving California 3.5 billion a year which is almost 10% of the 40 billion dollar fund. I understand they have more people and pay more taxes, but I think they should take on more of their own responsibility even though they are a democratic state that helped put you in the Whitehouse.
Kansas, Oklahoma and several other states are cutting back on food stamps for able single adults, under 49 years old that can work. Congress is trying to pass a similar bill for the nation. The law makes sense and can stop the beach bums in California from eating Lobster at a barbeque.
What are the copays associated with Obamacare? I don’t see them mentioned anywhere and I know that was a problem in Massachusetts for the poor that couldn’t afford them or the insurance.
